About 10 minutes walk from here there is a small intimate restaurant offering traditional french cuisine. Owned for 20 years by husband and wife Gina and Neil Evans, Neil having worked at the hotels Ritz and Sheraton Park Tower in London. Open Tuesday to Saturday throughout the year.

The seafood restaurant right on the quayside. Wonderful position overlooking the busy harbour. Plenty for children to watch if their parents want to take their time over their meal. Very friendly accommodating staff.

Unique, tiny seafood restaurant and bar with just 3 tables! Often standing room only in the bar. Lobster, crabs the lot! Must book.

Cosy, relaxed continental atmosphere. Excellent food serving local dishes such as oyster and crispy bacon salad as first course then baked halibut with pesto and cream, and many others.

Virtually on the beach at the Horsebridge with fine sea views. Extensive menu specialising in sea food, fresh fish, steaks and fine wines. Vegetarian options. Children welcome.

East Quay Shellfish Bar, the end of East Quay, Whitstable (01227 280280)

Passing Bretts quarry works at the end of East Quay the atmosphere suddenly changes inside this unusual self-service seafood restaurant located in an old shed (head for the rusty corrugated roof at the end of the harbour wall)! Daily menus with an abundance of shellfish and salads. Eat in or take away.
